No, I didn’t spell “loquacious” incorrectly. It’s the title of the blog Loqwacious. I don”t know why the author chooses to spell it incorrectly, but none of that really matters.
Loqwacious is a word game played by users on twitter. Each day, the blog offers a new, correctly-spelled, word. The challenge is to write a beautiful sentence or short poem utilizing the random word.
I think this is something I’m going to pick up.
The word for today is “mocha”.
Here’s my submission:

waist-deep in the bay/ mocha water lapping against my back/ I see you laughing on the shore/ and feel something slither/ upon my leg #lqw

This was my first time participating. I find the length limitation of twitter extremely challenging. This poetic form is neither haiku nor tanka. It’s a relatively new form called gogyohka. The only true rule is that it is limited to five lines. I hope you enjoyed it.

(re)EDIT:
I have just learned of another word game that does the same thing “artwiculate”. I will be following this one as well. Today’s word is “rubicund”. I haven’t had a chance to write anything yet, but I’ll keep you posted.
Artwiculate operates on a voting and point system. Loqwacious is solely for fun. For that reason, I will always prefer Loqwacious, but I am still doing both.
